Meet Sarah Lawson: The Force Behind Knowtion Health's Client Success Evolution

Knowtion Intros - Sarah Lawson

At Knowtion Health, our people and culture are what make our solutions impactful to our clients. Knowtion Intros is our way of pulling back the curtain and introducing the experts, advocates, and industry veterans who show up every day to fight for providers and patients. Every new face brings new firepower, and we think that's worth celebrating.

Sarah Lawson didn't choose healthcare. She stumbled into it during college, filling in wherever she was needed. She started in oncology, and what she witnessed there changed everything. Before the Affordable Care Act, she watched patients who had lost a job, experienced a brief gap in coverage, and then received the worst possible news get turned away for cancer treatment because their diagnosis was now a pre-existing condition. People fighting for their lives were simultaneously facing financial ruin.

That experience is why she believes patient care should be about treating people with thoughtfulness—both medically and financially. And it's the lens through which she has approached every role in revenue cycle since.

"When you see things like that, you look at revenue cycle and the work associated with it differently and know firsthand the importance
."
- Sarah Lawson, Senior Vice President, Client Success

Sarah brings something rare to Knowtion Health: she has sat on both sides of the table. She understands how payer policies are designed and exactly how those same policies land on provider teams already stretched to their limits.

"Providers are not resistant. They are overwhelmed. Challenges in the revenue cycle are not usually about unwillingness or lack of sophistication. They are about capacity, sequencing, and tradeoffs. "
- Lawson

That insight comes from more than 20 years of personal and professional relationships at the center of how healthcare gets funded, billed, and paid—across McKesson, Change Healthcare, Cotiviti, and Zelis. When Sarah advises a provider client on navigating a payer's strategy, she's drawing on experience from inside both worlds.

"We talk a lot at Knowtion about being a true partner to our clients, a team they lean on, not just a vendor they manage. Sarah is the person who makes that real. She knows what it takes to build relationships that last, teams that perform, and a client experience that's genuinely differentiated. The health systems we serve are under enormous pressure. They need a partner who shows up with answers before they have to ask the questions. That's Sarah.  "
- Ryan Feldt, Chief Customer Officer

Building the Team Clients Can't Imagine Working Without

There's a meaningful difference between a team that responds and a team that leads. Client Services solves what's in front of you—and clients feel supported. Client Success understands what success actually looks like for each client and helps them get there—and clients feel guided. Sarah has spent her career on the right side of that line, and she's bringing Knowtion Health with her.

She's done the transformation work before. Across multiple organizations, she has taken over exhausted, reactive teams—people who cared deeply but had no clear picture of what good looked like—and rebuilt them around clarity, ownership, and proactive partnership. The proof is durable: more than 15 team members have followed her across organizations over the years, growing their careers alongside her.

The destination at Knowtion is concrete. Within 18 months, clients will feel the impact of client success at Knowtion Health. They'll see strong, consistent financial results, their teams will have less friction, and they'll view Knowtion as an essential partner, not just a vendor they manage. Ahead of issues. Bringing solutions before problems surface. The kind of relationship where renewing and expanding isn't a sales conversation. It's an obvious next step.

Where Ego Doesn't Lead

When Sarah evaluated the opportunity at Knowtion Health, it was the conversations—not the title—that moved her. Authentic, honest about where the business is and where it wants to go, and genuinely fired up about how hard healthcare is right now for providers.

"I wasn't being asked to step into a perfectly packaged role. I was being asked to help shape something. That told me this is a place where ego doesn't lead, but where relationships, judgment, and real-world experience are valued. "
- Lawson
